The EdgeFile® X7 offers a flexible sequence, available in .04 and .06 constant tapers, with ISO tip sizes ranging from #17 to #45, and lengths of 21, 25, and 29 mm. Its Parabolic Cross Section and non-cutting tip maximize file cutting efficiency, while the reduced handle length provides increased posterior access. For obturation, the minimally invasive design of both .04 and .06 tapers preserves pericervical dentin, requiring a minimally invasive obturation technique using small, less tapered .04 gutta-percha cones in sizes 25, 30, and 35 for predictable insertion. While using orifice openers or increasing coronal flaring allows for .06 cones or .04 cones larger than 40, the EdgeFile® X7 promotes a less invasive approach. For X7 .06 preparations, trimming .04 cones can improve apical tugback, and in wider canals (size 40 or bigger), using .04 gutta points one size larger or performing additional coronal flaring is recommended.
